Michael Savitsky: element wood

Michael Savitsky: wood and feng shui

As one of the main feng shui elements it is, wood must be paid attention to, studied and balanced within the house or any other environment in which you wish to create harmony and allow chi to flow freely, as Michael Savitsky would say. Wood, as each other of the five elements, is indispensable for a proper balance and harmony, and therefore it should be located in the right areas of the house and the proper amounts.

Michael Savitsky: wood characteristics

Among the main characteristics you should have in mind about wood there is the fact that it is strongly related to everything that involves innovation, creation, and good ideas. Besides this, wood also represents sociability and interpersonal interactions. On the other hand, as Michael Savitsky explains, when overused or used incorrectly the element wood can enter into the destructive cycle and destroy earth, unbalancing the rest of the elements in the room.

Michael Savitsky: adding wood

According to Michael Savitsky, the ideal way to add the element wood in any environment is by placing live plants or small trees which count with a trunk. Dead wood, such as furniture, is not so beneficial since it does not count with the same live energy and chi as live wood has. Also, while adding wood with a plant, you should also have in mind that you will probably be adding earth as well.

Michael Savitsky: representing wood

Wood can be represented through the color green and the direction east. This way, if you need to add wood to a specific area of the house through the use of a color, you should use green. Also, you should pay special attention to the east area of the house and each room in relation to this element, since, as Michael Savitsky says, the good characteristics of such areas can be enhanced through the use of this element.
